Asha Elana Casey: When Watching God

Gallery 102 is proud to present "When Watching God," a solo exhibition of painter Asha Elana Casey’s newest work as part of the 2017 Summer Solo Series. Combining works on paper, canvas, and sculptural pieces, Casey explores themes of godliness, cosmology, self-preservation, and healing. She envisions people of African descent as spiritual vessels and entities with the use of color, texture, patterns and proportions.  Her focus is primarily on the woman's role in these rituals and the different physical and spiritual spaces they occupy.
